IRCK Attends the Closing Ceremony of “2024 Sustainability Tour”

On November 22, the International Research Centre on Karst (IRCK) participated in the closing ceremony of the “2024 Sustainability Tour” event at Delegation of the European Union (EU) to China.

During the closing ceremony, Mr. Jorge Toledo, the EU Ambassador to China, reflected on the event's highlights and expressed gratitude on behalf Delegation of the EU to all participants for their active involvement. The event showcased a series of collaborative projects between the EU, its member states, and China in various fields, including environmental protection, climate change, and green transition. We conducted in-depth research on 21 projects across 14 provinces and cities in China. Among them, IRCK actively engaged in the event, collaborating with video bloggers to film in Guilin. The filming locations included the IRCK, the China Karst Geological Museum, the Yaji Experimental Field, and the IRCK’s new base. These efforts effectively showcased the core work of IRCK in serving sustainable development in karst regions. Leveraging international platforms and collaborative projects, such as the China-Slovenia Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Karst Geology, the institute showcased advancements in karst carbon cycling, water resources, and geomorphological landscapes.As of now, the jointly produced videos by the IRCK have amassed nearly 2 million views across major online media platforms.
